MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY

Anthony’s Travel are extremely proud of our roll within our community, providing transport for specialised groups and support for a number of local charities and good causes, but don’t just take our word for it, here is what a handful had to say and how they feel Anthony’s Travel is making a difference for them personally:

“Anthony’s Travel are a brilliant example of a local company that take great pride in the community that they operate in and it is a privilege to be associated such a fine company”.

I have worked with Anthony’s Travel for the past two years. As the manager of a Retirement Village my role involves planning trips and holidays for 65 + older people. It’s important for me, when booking trips, that I use a reliable coach company. My Residents occasionally have to get home for timed medication so I need a company that will pick us up when they say they will and won’t let us down. It’s also important that my Residents are comfortable on their trips; a rattlely old coach is not great when customers are older and slightly fragile.
With Anthony’s travel my residents have never complained about the coaches, they enjoy getting to know the Drivers who are wonderful and extremely patient with getting my Residents off and off, strapping wheelchairs in and helping them on and off the coach, they really go over and above to make sure my role is easier. They also talk to the Residents, explaining where we are, what’s around us, interesting sites, and even the odd joke!
The communication I receive from the girls in the office is always spot on, when booking 12 – 15 trips each year, timings occasionally get lost, but the girls are always one step ahead of me checking everything is correct and double checking just in case.

The service I receive from Anthony’s Travel is faultless; I will continue to use Anthony’s Travel as I know no job is too big or too small. I have the confidence in this Anthony’s Travel to make my Residents feel welcomed on to their coaches, and that’s the main thing for me.

Richard, Tony and the team at Anthony’s Travel offer The Mark Gorry Foundation a huge amount of support in many ways. They’re not just a great coach company to work with, but they also provide us with a level of professional support that helps our charity move forward and develop. Richard has become a great friend with a massive dedication to all things community. Our partnership with Anthony’s Travel is hugely important to our success year on year and we are so grateful for their continued support. They really are ‘Simply the Best!’

As well as been supported through most of his school life by staff and drivers at Anthony’s Travel, Omar has been sponsored financially for about 20 years. This has enabled him to compete in Gymnastics Competitions all over the world. On his return from his travels he always enjoys his trip over to the depot to show off his medals.
He’s welcomed with smiles and friendly faces and enjoys all the fuss the staff gives him. His disability has never held him back and its people like Anthony s Travel that have made his gymnastics career as eventful as it could be.

His hoard of medals are too numerous to mention but like Omar says himself. I’d like a silver one for a change because I always get gold.

As a local appeal striving to raise awareness and funds for a WW1 bronze statue of a local hero, we were delighted when Anthony’s Travel stepped in to offer their assistance. Not only did they raise our profile by promoting, championing and highlighting our appeal, they also contributed to our funding which was of huge benefit. Anthony’s Travel has also stepped in to provide transport for our unveiling event which, with their help has met the target date. This local company is a credit to the town and it is a privilege to be associated with such a community spirited local business.

Without support both financially and supportively our lovely friends at Anthony’s Travel it would make the whole job a lot more taxing than it already is.  Anthony’s Travel are always willing to support our events and regularly supply coaches without charge to ensure that our costs are kept to a minimum yet making sure the service is still second to none. Father and son duo, Tony and Richard, along with their extended families are regulars at all of the events put on by the Hospice and their continued enthusiasm never fails to amaze us all.  Long may it continue!

Events Manager

Without the support of Anthony’s Travel I would not been able to compete at the highest level, Being a full time student in the daytime and a full time athlete in the evening it leaves little or no time for me to occupy part time employment, therefore being sponsored by Anthony’s Travel has helped me out vastly meaning I can concentrate on my Boxing career and education with out struggling.

When I took over West Bank Bears Under 7’s, I immediately found out we had no training kit, no training equipment, in fact very little!   One visit to Richard and Tony Bamber of Anthony’s Travel and it was all sorted, they certainly know how to make a difference to the community they trade in.

When we went public with your very kind donation, the Appeal went up a recognisable level, the Appeal was stagnant in the fact donations weren’t really coming in and in the local ‘paper weren’t all that interested. An example of interest afterwards was when we did a fund raising night, these local companies donated to the Appeal :-

  • Gary Hazelhurst Driver Training
  • Premierfoto
  • More Glass and Joinery, Runcorn
  • Populus Ltd
  • Roddy Sneddon of Electrod UK Ltd.
  • Runcorn F.C. Town Supporters Club
  • Runcorn Linnets
  • Salon One
  • Scottspec Garage, Runcorn
  • Tony Lynch representing R J Lewis group Heath Business Park

Plus when the article was in the ‘paper an ex Runcornian seen the article Eric Downward from Houston Texas USA donated. A good friend of mine in Singapore Joyce Baird initially pledged £250 but then increased it to £450. When I asked the CO-OP, Aldi for permission to do a bucket collection in their stores I mentioned Anthony’s travel, as both these stores have never allowed a bucket collection before or since to any other Appeal, I must put it down to your Company good name helping me to hold these collections in their shops.

When I applied for the last two grants, (W.R.E.N. and Area Forum), both of which were successful, £35,350 and £6,000; I mentioned your company. All grant forms have a section which asks about help/interaction etc. from local companies/people being involved.

In conclusion, Anthony’s Travel took the Todger Jones Statue Appeal to a new level. When I originally posted on both the Website and Facebook page about your Company’s donation and help you have given at the time and since, there was a notable increase in interest which led to the Appeal gaining momentum and reaching its goal well ahead of the planned schedule in fund raising.   A Top Company run by Top People!

‘Anthony’s Travel’ has earned the respect of many of our voluntary sector organisations because they don’t just serve the community; they are at the centre of many aspects of all that happens at community level here in Halton! They give back so much and support many worthwhile causes helping to prove that local business can really make a difference to people’s lives. Their door is always open for us!’

Dear Richard Bamber,

Thank you for your kind contribution to our National Citizen Service (NCS) summer project. The NCS is a social and developmental programme in which school leavers, like myself, engage in a five week project. It starts with an Induction day in which the young people are grouped into teams for the duration of NCS. During the first week the teams go on an outdoor activities residential. This week makes them bond as a team and develop communication skills and confidence around each other. In the second week the teams spend their time on a second residential at a university where they do further team building activities and workshops. In the last two weeks of NCS the teams each choose a project in their local community. This allows them to do something worthwhile and leave a legacy in their community.
We will use the money you have given us to buy materials to renovate a local park in the Castlefields area. Specifically your donation is paying for the new basketball hoops. Thank you again for your help and the Anthony’s shirt you gave me is going to be worn with pride at our fundraiser Party in the Park.

Yours Sincerely,
Alexandra
