One of the most famous country house images in England, this country house was used for the backdrop in the film Pride and Prejudice. Sitting in moorlands on the edge of the Peak District, the estate has a colourful family history to discover.
Museum of Science and Industry
An amazing collection of inventions from Manchester’s scientific and industrial present and past that have helped shape the world we live in.

Old Trafford and Etihad Stadiums
‘The theatre of dreams,’ take a walk around the hallowed stadium that has graced such legendary sporting names as George Best, David Beckham and Bobby Charlton. Or visit The Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City and venue of the 2002 Commonwealth games.
Quarry Bank Mill
This working 18th Century water powered cotton mill is set in the National Trust country parkland of Styal. As well as the mill there are guided tours of the Apprentice House, which housed the children who worked at the mill. Strolling through the picturesque gardens it’s easy to forget how hard it must have been for the pauper children working at the mill. Cloth is still produced at the mill and is for sale at the on-site shop, created the same way it was in the 18th Century – but with much better paid labour!
Shop til you drop in this huge shopping mall with high street stores, designer shops, restaurants, cinema and even miniature golf!
A waterside collection of theatres, galleries, restaurants and shops.
Whitworth Art Gallery
Home to one of the most famous collections of British artworks, paintings, prints and sculptures.
