ANTHONYS TRAVEL CROWN HALTON SCHOOL OF THE YEAR!
Following a competition which Anthony’s Travel held in June where over 30 schools in the Borough applied for the title of Anthony’s Travel School of the year they have recently crowned St Edwards RC School Runcorn and St Peter and Paul RC College, Widnes joint winners. Explaining the purpose of the competition and the selection criteria Richard Bamber, Partner of Anthony’s Travel explained:
“we first introduced our competition in 2012, I feel look businesses and schools are the core of our community, our ethos as a business has always been to support the community we live in and have worked on numerous local projects. We were looking for partner schools that recognised the benefits of quality coach travel and safety above marginal financial savings and had a strong community ethos and recognised the central role they play within the community . Schools had to demonstrate their commitment to the local community and show a strong understanding of safety on school trips and in general. We had some outstanding applications and we couldn’t pick an overall winner so decided they were both worthy champions. Congratulations also to Weston Primary School, Runcorn who were a very close runner up”
Winners of the Halton School of the year receive a number of benefits including a free coach trip, discounted rates on school trip hires, staff and parent hires, raffle and pupil prizes, BUSK approved risk assessments, joint fundraising projects and visits from a number of Anthony’s Travel community partners including Halton Haven Hospice, Mark Gory Foundation, Widnes Vikings and Boxing Brian ‘the Lion’ Rose.
Since the launch of Anthony’s Travel School Of the Year competition, it has been endorsed by the school travel safety campaign and been replicated by other coach operators across the country. Anthony’s Travel have also won the ROSCO safety award and been shortlisted for the Route One Excellence Awards as a result of the competition.
