Anthony’s Travel funds a Blue Plaque for Thomas Mottershead’s Family Home
A little while ago, the appeal put out a plea for someone, or a company to purchase a Blue Plaque for 6 Vine street Widnes, the Birth place of Sgt. Thomas Mottershead V.C. D.C.M.
No sooner had we made our plea than Richard Bamber from Anthony’s Travel contacted us, he offered to purchase the plaque. This isn’t the first time Richard and Anthony’s Travel have came to our aid. We cannot thank Richard enough, but as he keeps saying “it’s my pleasure to help with such a worthy cause”.
The plaque will be unveiled on the birthday of Tom, 17th January. At 6 Vine street Widnes 10.30am. It will be a small affair, just a few family members and committee present.
We must remember Richard and Anthony’s Travel help many local worthy charities and appeals, and they don’t get the recognition they should do. After all, it is only a small local family business and not a multi national company. They can only do so much, but they do make a massive difference to a great many people in Halton. Most of it unrecognised.
Without the likes of Richard and Anthony’s Travel, a great many people would not be able to achieve what they set out to do. The World needs more people like him.
We would like to assure everyone that every penny donated goes direct to the Appeal, no monies are paid out in wages, expenses or payments of any kind to anyone.
If anyone or company would like to donate or help in anyway, please contact us.
Lets make Halton proud of it’s heroes.
You can donate through our website, PayPal, Gogetfunding or by sending a cheque (NOT CASH) made out to the Sgt. Thomas Mottershead statue appeal. And send it to:
