Commenting on Anthony’s Travel continued success Richard Bamber said
“It was an honour just to be a finalist and sharing a room with some truly remarkable companies within the transport and logistics industry. Whilst we are relatively a small company, we endeavour to provide a high quality service, we have invested heavily in on vehicle technology and training that has shown proven results over a sustained period, it’s wonderful to see our investment recognised and a great credit to all our hard working team”
Turning to the individual services to the passenger industry award presented to Richard Bamber, he continued
“I started life in the coach industry 35 years ago cleaning coaches for Selwyn’s Travel for pocket money as a ten year old boy and my passion for coach travel evolved from there. Time certainly has flown by and whilst I still feel new to the industry when I look at the mirror it now tells me a different story! I endeavoured to offer something to passengers and clients that is truly different, to remain a small operator but providing niche bespoke transport solutions – a growing fleet size was never an objective, it was to create a small fleet of high quality coaches and minicoaches with superior standards, unique facilities and the highest service levels plus encompassing the families’ community ethos and device a central community strategy for the company to encompass this, to use our local influence to create a better community. I was overwhelmed to receive this award and for it to be presented by the Senior Traffic Commissioner. Makes all of the long days, sleepless nights worthwhile! “
The awards were presented at a gala dinner, hosted by Dave Guest, Senior Reporter; BBC’s North West Tonight and was attended by leading figures from the logistics and transport profession.
Simon Reynish, Chairman, CILT North West Region, said: ‘This year’s CILT North West Awards championed many of the great developments in logistics and transport taking place in the North West of England. Through the CILT North West awards we are able to recognise and applaud the Region’s talent. Congratulations to Anthony’s Travel and all the winners and finalists in what was another excellent evening for the logistics and transport sector.’
